Edzell has been owned by the Lindsay family for over 25 years.  During this time the garden has been extensively planted with native shrubs to attract Australian birds. The original house has been extended twice adding more rooms and entertaining areas. The house reflects the family's love of alpine landscapes, gardening, fishing, walking and skiing.  It has been a popular holiday rental during this time for many  people, couples and families who have stayed and enjoyed the  Snowy Mountains region of Australia.  Edzell is named after a famous Heritage garden at Edzell Castle in Scotland , home to a distant relative who also enjoyed gardening, stonework, entertaining and cold climates. The family insignia which is carved over the gate into the tennis pavilion 'dum spiro spero' translates to 'while I breathe  I hope'. It is a very humble and thoughtful tribute to experiencing life.
